The MCD tax superintendent Dharmesh Painuly stated that the corporation has collected approximately Rs 45 crore in property tax so far. He said, “Out of 1.2 lakh registered taxpayers, around 65,000 have already paid their dues. MCD has formed four teams to visit different areas and recover the pending tax. We are sending bills to defaulters through WhatsApp too to ensure quicker communication. Tw extra counters have also been set up in the tax section for the convenience of the locals during tax submission.

The corporation is also receiving a sufficient amount from taxpayers via online mode too.” Painuly said that all efforts are being made to recover the pending property tax and achieve the target of collecting Rs 70 crore in this financial year.
