The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) launched a portal to start the e-mutation procedure on Wednesday and became the State’s first corporation to make this process completely online. The mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ said that the public would not have to come to the corporation for mutation and the staff will be able to function properly due to the commencement of this online process. The municipal commissioner Manuj Goyal said that the application process for online mutation is quite easy like property tax submission and can be used by anyone. The current mutation application fee is Rs 150. He said that the locals can also receive regular updates of their application status and can also file complaints to the corporation regarding the matter. He said that users can go to the official website of the MCD www.nagarnigamdehradun.com and click on pay online tax category where all the required options are given for tax submission and property mutation. The officials also informed that the site will be managed by an outsourced company and is expected to run without glitches as many had earlier complained about the slow operation of the official website.
