The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) is organising a two-day loan fair under Prime Minister Street Vendor’s Atmanirbhar Nidhi (Svanidhi) scheme for the street vendors of the city.
According to the municipal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, the fair will be organised on the MCD campus on Wednesday and Thursday in the presence of officials of various banks where any street vendors from vegetables and fruit vendors to roadside cobblers can arrive to apply to get a loan of Rs 10,000. As mentioned earlier by Pandey, 100 applicants have already applied for loans under this scheme and some applications were under process too but all of these applications belonged to vegetable and fruit vendors registered with the corporation.
According to him, this scheme can benefit every type of street vendor of Dehradun and therefore he appealed to all such vendors to arrive in the fair to take advantage of this government scheme.
