MCD to remove illegal public displays from today
The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) will commence the campaign of removing posters and hoardings from public places in the Dehradun city from Monday.
Gearing up for the forthcoming inspection of Swachh Survekshan 2021, the municipal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey has formed teams to remove such disorganised display which can adversely affect the ranking of the city in this cleanliness survey. According to Pandey, the corporation had issued notices to the Mahanagar heads of six political parties and now the corporation will take action against the offenders under the Prevention of Defacement of Public Property Act, (PDPP), 2003. Moreover, Pandey also clarified that the corporation is not taking this initiative due to Swachh Survekshan only and will continue to monitor such activities throughout the year.
