The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) has shortlisted three companies through the tenders opened on Tuesday as potential service providers to manage the operation of solid waste management and recycling plant in Sheeshambada and sanitation facilities in wards which are currently being managed by Ramky Enviro Engineers Limited (REEL).
The three companies selected through the tender are EXCEL, Akanksha and People’s Association For Total Help and Youth Applause. Two of these companies are local while one is based in Maharashtra, as per the officials.
The municipal commissioner Manuj Goyal informed that the corporation will now carry out the verification process of the documents provided during the technical bid of the tender by the companies. He said that the MCD will then subsequently carry on with other necessary proceedings to finalise the company, possibly within a week. REEL is scheduled to be relieved of its responsibilities by the end of this month and Goyal stated that the MCD is taking all possible measures to make the transition process smooth to properly handle the sanitation facilities in wards as well as in the waste management plant.
