In view of the rising number of dengue cases, the Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ has directed the health section of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) to conduct an intensive anti-dengue campaign in the city.
On Tuesday, the mayor held a meeting with chief municipal health officer Dr Kailash Joshi and other officials of the health section to discuss the undertaking of an intensive campaign in the vulnerable areas of the city to minimise the risk of dengue.
The mayor said that only a few days are left for the end of this month and it is quite crucial to be safe from dengue during these days. He said, “This campaign will start from Wednesday at 4 PM. About 100 types of machinery will be used to fumigate areas and spray larvicide to destroy larvae in the areas vulnerable to this disease.” He also added that most of the dengue patients found in the city are people who arrived here from other districts and only five patients are from Dehradun.
