The sanitation officials of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) will now use the walkie-talkie to establish better telecommunication coordination to improve cleanliness in the city. The corporation has been taking steps to improve sanitation conditions of the city, especially considering Swacchh Survekshan 2023. The municipal commissioner Manuj Goyal recently handed over the responsibility of checking the cleanliness of 100 wards to 13 MCD officers. All the officials concerned have been visiting their respective wards in the morning and evening to see the cleanliness system in their allotted areas. Due to the simultaneous inspection of 13 officers in different areas on Friday, sanitation workers and sanitation supervisors also remained in alert mode. After marking the presence of sanitation workers, the officers on Friday also inspected the work being done by them. They also took information about cleaning related problems from the regional supervisor and gave them the necessary guidelines to solve the problems. Goyal said that the corporation will soon buy walkie-talkies to establish better telecommunication coordination among the officers and sanitation inspectors. The official concerned will receive sanitation related messages via the walkie-talkie system immediately which will help them to take immediate action, added the commissioner.
