MCD’s hundred percent door to door service might get delayed
The plan of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) to start 100 percent door to door garbage collection service from February 1 might get delayed as the preparation for the same by the newly selected companies is still under process.
Earlier, the senior officials of the corporation have stated that the door to door garbage picking service will start from February 1 in all the wards but on asking about the same on Sunday, the officials were uncertain of the plan and stated that the garbage collection might get started in a few wards on Monday but it will take some more time before the 100 percent target of door to door service is achieved. According to officials, the companies recently selected by the MCD to facilitate sanitation facilities in the new wards have asked for some more time to gather the equipment and supplies to commence proper sanitation work in their respective allotted wards. The officials informed that the corporation will start sanitation facilities including door to door service in the new wards as soon as possible. It is also pertinent to mention here that the corporation wants to start a complete door to door service in all the wards before March in order to get the bonus marks during the upcoming inspection of Swachh Surveskshan 2021.
