MCH, Landour cantonment invited for World Environment Day celebration in Delhi

The Municipal Corporation of Haridwar (MCH) is among the 25 cities of the country which have been invited by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) to celebrate World Environment Day in Delhi on June 5. Besides this, the Landour cantonment has also been invited to participate in the celebration too.
The municipal commissioner of Haridwar Dayanand Saraswati said that Haridwar is among the cities which were awarded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) under its Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 programme. He informed that the theme of this year’s World Environment Day is ‘Solutions to Plastic Pollution’ and the MoEFCC is organising an event at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Monday with an aim to raise awareness among the citizens on the elimination of single use plastic, adoption of environment friendly practices and creation of pro-planet people through the objectives of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle For Environment) for conservation and protection of the environment.
The ministry has invited the mayor of Haridwar Anita Sharma, commissioner Dayanand Saraswati and chief executive officer of Landour cantonment Abhinav Singh to participate in the event on Monday.
