The Municipal Corporation of Haridwar (MCH) has started a campaign to clean all the major drains of the city before the onset of monsoon. On the instructions of the municipal commissioner Dayanand Saraswati , the cleaning work of drains is going on in all the areas.Special Nala gang comprising 120 workers has been deployed by MCH
Saraswati has given instructions to clean all the major drains before the start of the rainy season so that the drains do not get clogged during the rains and the situation of water logging does not arise in the city. A special campaign is being run to clean the drains of the city. The municipal commissioner informed this correspondent that there are two big drainage issues in the city. The first is Bhura Ki Khol Nala, from where huge amounts of silt come in the market area of Haridwar city and the second is the problem of the main drain is Ranipur Mod- Bhagat Singh Chowk. “I have personally visited Bhagat Singh Chowk and instructed the staff to clean that drain properly along with Bhure Ki Khol Nala,” he said.
