MCI increases PG seats in SGRR Medical College

The Medical Council of India has increased the PG seats of Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical and Health Sciences (Shri Guru Ram Rai Medical College) from 94 to 109. The college stated in a Press release that it has emerged as the number one medical college of Uttarakhand with the highest number of PG seats. The chairman of Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical and Health Sciences has congratulated the medical college’s principal Dr Yashbir Dewan, faculty members and students for the MCI increasing the PG seats. He urged all the doctors, paramedical staff and all other staff members to continue their commitment to providing quality healthcare service to people coming from far-flung and remote mountainous areas.
The MCI conducts inspections from time to time regarding the graduate and PG seats. In this regard, the team of National Medical Commission had conducted inspection from September to November 2021. During this inspection, the basic facilities of the medical college, technical facilities and various other aspects were taken cognisance of. According to the college officials, this development will directly benefit the people of Uttarakhand. This will open new dimensions for the spread of quality medical education and health services. Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical and Health Sciences has received approval for more super speciality PG seats. It has received approval for two seats of DM Cardiology, two seats of Medical Gasteroenterology, two seats of Plastic Surgery and one seat of Urology MCh.
