The Municipal Corporation of Kashipur (MCK) imposed a penalty of Rs 50,000 on the operator of noted clothing store Trends for alleged garbage accumulation around their establishment near Ramnagar Road. The municipal commissioner Vivek Rai said that a team of the corporation found during a recent inspection that garbage was allegedly thrown at 10 different spots near the establishment by them which is a clear violation of section 4 of the Uttarakhand Garbage Throwing and Spitting Prohibition Act 2016. He said that there is also a provision of imprisonment of up to six months along with imposing a penalty for such violations under this act. Considering this, the MCK has imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the Trends clothing store and sent a notice regarding the same. He said that the corporation has warned them to stop throwing garbage in open areas and directed them to clean all the accumulated garbage around their establishment. The corporation has asked them via notice to take all necessary action within three days along with the submission of the penalty or legal action will be taken against them as per the rules, added the commissioner.
