The Municipal Corporation of Kashipur (MCK) organised a cleanliness awareness rally on the theme of Swabhav Swachhata -Sanskar Swachhata (Behavioural Cleanliness – Cultural Cleanliness) on Tuesday under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. The corporation also organised an oath ceremony and a symposium on the occasion.
The rally began from the municipal corporation premises, passing through Pant Park, Tehsil and Chhatri Chowk, before returning via GGIC and Jail Road to the starting point. At Chhatri Chowk, the Kashipur municipal commissioner Vivek Rai administered a cleanliness oath to all participants. Following the rally, a symposium was held at the municipal corporation auditorium. The focus of the discussions was on cleanliness, environmental protection and reducing air pollution in the city.
The event followed a zero-plastic-waste principle, prohibiting the use of plastics. Local citizens, municipal employees, members of self help groups (SHGs) and sanitation workers also participated in the programme. Participants raised slogans and promoted zero waste practices while calling for a ban on single-use plastics. The rally aimed to highlight personal responsibility and cultural values in maintaining city cleanliness as part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva campaign.
