MDDA board approves new office in Nehru Colony

The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) will have a new office in Nehru Colony on a 3,113.44 square metres plot provided by the Housing Development Council. The construction of the new building will commence soon. This proposal was approved in the 110th board meeting of MDDA on Monday which was held under the chairmanship of Garhwal commissioner and MDDA chairman Vinay Shankar Pandey along with MDDA vice chairman Banshidhar Tiwari. The board first reviewed the revised budget allocations for the 2024-25 fiscal year, which was subsequently approved. Besides this, the board also discussed various facilities developed at the City Forest Park in Tarla Nagal, such as cycling tracks, pathways, a children’s play area, open gyms, an amphitheatre and an open-air stage. Built on a green conservation model and spread over 12.45 hectares, this park has been designated for public use following the board’s approval, the officials said. The board also sanctioned land pooling of 1.181 hectares in Shah Kalyanpur of Vikasnagar block. Alongside this, it also approved projects for the construction of eco-resorts and guest houses, emphasising the MDDA’s commitment to sustainable development and tourism enhancement.
