MDDA demolishes illegal plotting on 40 bighas in Dehradun

The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) destroyed illegal plotting spread over about 40 bighas of land in Dehradun on Tuesday. The action was taken under the leadership of MDDA vice chairman Banshidhar Tiwari.
According to officials, around 10 bighas of illegal plotting at Ekta Vihar, Ratanpur, behind Baluni School, was demolished. This land was allegedly being plotted illegally by Masoom Ali and Prakash Joshi. Another major action was taken at Parwal Road near Chandni Chowk on Shimla Bypass Road, where illegal plotting over about 30 bighas by Nafasat was also demolished.
The demolition drive was carried out peacefully in the presence of MDDA engineers, supervisors, and police personnel. MDDA officials said that all rules and building laws were followed during the action.
Vice chairman Banshidhar Tiwari said that MDDA will not show any leniency towards illegal plotting and construction. He added that such actions will continue in the future as well. MDDA secretary Mohan Singh Bernia also appealed to the public to check MDDA approval before buying or selling land, so that they can avoid legal problems later.
