MDDA launches ‘One Day-One Sector’ initiative against illegal constructions

The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) launched the ‘One Day-One Sector’ initiative on Friday under which officials will inspect the construction works in their respective sectors by selecting a day in the week to prevent illegal constructions. The vice chairman of MDDA Banshidhar Tiwari has formed two teams under the supervision of two joint secretaries of the authority to ensure the smooth operation of this initiative. MDDA secretary Mohan Singh Barniya who will be monitoring this operation said that this campaign is meant to discourage and curb the trend of illegal constructions in Dehradun and Mussoorie. The officials will focus mainly on and investigate cases of non-residential and illegal plotting and will take strict action against culprits as per MDDA laws, he said. He informed that the first phase of the campaign started on Friday and the teams inspected and investigated some portions of the Pachhwa Doon area under sector 12. Teams will inspect the whole area in the coming weeks as per the plan. The day for the campaign for each sector will be selected by joint secretaries supervising the teams every week. Tiwari will review all actions taken by the teams under this campaign every week, added Barniya.
