With a focus on quality construction and timely delivery, the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) housing schemes have gained popularity, resulting in a surge in flat bookings. The attractive discounts offered under various schemes have further fuelled public interest, turning dreams into reality for countless families, the MDDA vice chairman Banshidhar Tiwari said. He stated that Dehradun is a city where the dream of owning a home is cherished by many and the city is now witnessing a housing revolution led by MDDA. He said that the MDDA has made significant strides in monitoring and expediting projects that were previously delayed. The MDDA has emphasised on quality and punctuality that ensured that residential projects meet the expectations of the citizens.
Tiwari said that defaulter contractors have been replaced with companies specialising in advanced construction techniques, accelerating progress and maintaining high standards. He informed that prominent projects like the Aalyam scheme on Sahastradhara Road and those near ISBT have seen a consistent flow of bookings. The authority has introduced several incentives, including GST exemptions, one per cent discount for women and senior citizens and an additional two per cent discount on one time payments.
Tiwari also announced plans for expanding MDDA’s housing schemes to new locations, including Shahpur in Vikasnagar. Efforts to develop a land bank are underway to ensure affordable and quality homes are made available across the city. He stated that with such initiatives, MDDA continues to fulfill the vision of providing Doon’s residents with a home of their own.
