The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) sealed the under construction building of a five-star hotel on New Rajpur Road on Wednesday due to the developers not fulfilling mandatory conditions.
According to the authority, Mahalakshmi Buildwell and Manjeet Jauhar got the layout of a five-star hotel approved on New Rajpur Road. The layout was approved on the condition that they would secure no-objection certificates from six different departments and inform the MDDA about this before starting construction work.
However, this condition was not followed by the builders. Considering this, the MDDA secretary Mohan Singh Barniya ordered the sealing of the under construction hotel building. Barniya, executive engineer Ajay Mathur, assistant engineer Abhishek Bharadwaj and other MDDA officials along with the police were present at the time of the sealing.
