MDDA VC directs officials to expedite various projects

The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) vice chairman Banshidhar Tiwari has directed officials to expedite land related procedures with the businessmen in the Adhat Bazaar project in Dehradun so that the project can be executed at the earliest. He also directed officials to start operation of the 300-vehicle capacity parking facility ready near the Town Hall in Mussoorie and the much awaited parking facility at zero point in the hill station before the start of this tourist season. The signing of memorandum of understanding and other required procedures should be completed on time for this purpose, he said. Tiwari issued these and other directions while chairing a meeting to review progress in various projects and schemes of the authority on Wednesday.

Regarding the foot overbridge at the Tehsil Chowk in Dehradun, he said that the opinion of the general public is that this foot overbridge is not very useful. Considering this, this structure should be reviewed again. The construction of the Tehsil parking facility nearby will enhance convenience in the coming days, he said. The city park being developed near the Sahastradhara helipad at Tarla Nagal and the Rajpur Park should be inaugurated as early as possible. The Gaura Devi water park prepared in Defence Colony should be inaugurated soon and the park being built at Maldevta should be prepared and inaugurated soon. Further, the bus station constructed at Herbertpur in Vikasnagar should also be dedicated to the public at the earliest, Tiwari said. He instructed the Horticulture department horticulture officer that the works done during the G20 summit and Global Investors Summit should be regularly monitored and that a report should be presented on the same. Stating that complaints are being received about flora planted at various places in the city drying out, he directed officials to issue a warning to the gardeners in this regard. Regarding the MDDA’s Dhaulas and Amwala Tarla projects, he directed officials to prepare brochures for both these projects and that the executive engineer should ensure monitoring of the works being done by the marketing team to sell the units in these projects at the earliest.  The vice chairman further instructed officials that the work being done by the authority on 156 roads in the city should be expedited. Reviewing the passing of building maps, he expressed satisfaction and directed officials to ensure zero pendency of residential building map approvals.
