MEA team meets DM regarding proposed G-20 Summit

A meeting was held between the team of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Dehradun district magistrate R Rajesh Kumar in Bijapur Guest House here on Thursday regarding the preparations and arrangements for the proposed G-20 Summit which is scheduled to commence from December this year. The officials informed that India will hold the G-20 presidency from December 1 and host the G-20 Summit for the first time under which 200 meetings and seminars will be organised in the year 2023 which will be attended by representatives of 40 countries and several international organisations throughout the year. After the meeting, the MEA team also inspected the local public places and historical places located across the district as according to the officials, giving an overview of Indian culture and places of historical importance during the meetings and seminars to foreign representatives will be a crucial part of the summit. The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and SSP of Dehradun Janmejaya Khanduri, additional district magistrate (Finance and Revenue) KK Mishra, city magistrate Kusum Chauhan, director of culture department Bina Bhatt, district tourism officer Jaswant Singh Chauhan and Transport tax officer Pragya Pant were also present among others during the meeting.
