Following the killings of the gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, the security of the Uttarakhand chief minister is being tightened. The people who come to meet him will have to pass through intense verification and checking from now on. Besides, the media persons coming for coverage will have to go through several levels of checking. Notably, the CM alone in the state has the Z plus security. The Uttarakhand police are now tightening security after the recent killings in Uttar Pradesh. The intelligence department issued an alert regarding the security of the chief minister for the administration and the CM’s security department. It recommended further tightening of the CM’s security.
The ADG law and order V Murugesan said that during the VVIP programmes, the access must be controlled. Further, like earlier, the people will not be allowed to meet the CM. ADG further said that training is held from time to time regarding the VVIP security protocol.
