The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttarakhand raided a medical store in Udham Singh Nagar on Tuesday and arrested the store’s owner, Gadarpur resident Rajkumar after recovering prescription drugs. During the raid, the team recovered a large quantity of controlled drugs from the store. These included 9,416 capsules of a painkiller, 1,300 benzodiazepine tablets and 51 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup. According to officials, this is the biggest seizure of narcotic medicines in Uttarakhand so far in 2026.

The police registered a case against Rajkumar Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Gadarpur police station. Officials said that the medicines were kept in commercial quantity and were being sold illegally. The action was taken under the ‘Drugs-Free Devbhoomi’ campaign launched by the Uttarakhand government. The STF senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh appealed to the public to stay away from drugs and inform the police about any drug-related activities.
