The Joshimath sub divisional magistrate Kumkum Joshi chaired a meeting regarding preparations for the national and international skiing competitions to be held at Auli in the near future. The representatives of the municipality, Vyapar Mandal, taxi union, hotel association along with ski and snowboard association attended the meeting on Thursday.
Municipal councillor Samir Dimri said that arrangements should be made to transport the locals free to the slope to participate in the competition. Vyapar Mandal head Nain Singh Bhandari expressed his views regarding the cultural programmes during the games.
The sub divisional magistrate said that those who set up their shops illegally on the Auli motor road should shift their shops away from the road. The camp set up illegally in Auli should also be removed from the slope during the games, she said. Joshi further directed the taxi union representatives to ensure that the fixed fare is charge from communters between Joshimath and Auli.
