In latest news from Uttarakhand, the three-day meeting of the hostel heads and principals of regional level residential schools began at Parvati Prema Jagati Saraswati Vihar Vidyalaya at Durgapur in Nainital. Inaugurating the meeting, the organising secretary of Vidya Bharati Yatindra said that as the students of the residential schools stay and study for 24 hours a day, the responsibility of the hostel head is immense. “The hostel head should therefore act as the paterfamilias of the students,” he said. Speaking on the occasion, the regional organisational secretary of Vidya Bharati Domeshwar Sahu stressed on extra-curricular activities along with the study-teaching process.
Vidya Bharati’s central executive committee member Kishan Veer took a total of four sessions during which he discussed how students can be made to study in a playful manner under the National Education Policy for their all-round, harmonious development. He also stressed on the need to create a family-like atmosphere in the residential schools to help students study with ease.
About 30 hostel heads and principals of 15 schools, including Parvati Prema Jagati Saraswati Vihar, participated in the three-day regional level hostel meeting.
