Military Hospital organises conference on yoga & integrated medicine

The Military Hospital Ranikhet in collaboration with Bhole Baba Ayurvedic Hospital (BBAH) and Research Centre organised an inter-command Continuing Medical Education (CME) conference on ‘holistic care with yoga and integrated medicine’ here on Thursday. The event saw participation from medical professionals across the Indian Armed Forces. Its aim was to integrate traditional healing practices such as Yoga and Ayurveda into mainstream healthcare, the organisers said.
During the event, a CD containing valuable insights into holistic care, bridging traditional practices and modern medicine, was unveiled.
Major General Yoginder Singh and Lieutenant General Daljit Singh who spoke on the occasion stressed that integrating Ayurveda and Yoga into mainstream healthcare is the need of the hour. Brigadier Arvind Lal, who is a Padma Shri recipient and managing director of Dr Lal PathLabs, spoke on the synergy between Ayurveda, Yoga and modern medicines.
Other sessions involved Lieutenant Colonel Vishal Chopra who spoke on mental well-being and Dr Tarun Kumar providing insights on Panchkarma for neurological and musculoskeletal disorders. Practical demonstrations of Marma massage, Nasayam and Akshitarpanam were conducted by the Panchkarma department staffers of BBAH during the event.
