Nainital Milk Producers Cooperative Union claimed to have transferred an amount of Rs two crore into the accounts of the milk producers under milk price incentive scheme well before the Harela Festival. Notably, the State government had released about Rs 10 crore for the implementation of several schemes, including milk price incentive, for the financial year 2023-24.
The president of the union Mukesh Singh Bora said on Tuesday that Nainital district had received Rs 9.8 crore to execute a number of projects meant to encourage the milk producers. “We have directly transferred Rs two crore into the bank accounts of the milk producers for the milk supplied in April and May under the head of milk price incentive.
We are sure that this incentive will not just increase the volume of milk production but will further boost dairy activities in the district,” he said. He added that the amount for the milk supplied in June and July will be made available to the milk producers before Raksha Bandhan.
