Minimum temperature drops in Doon, similar weather forecast today

The minimum temperature in Dehradun dropped by about two degrees below normal to 4.3 degrees Celsius for the second consecutive day intensifying the effects of the cold on Wednesday. However, the maximum temperature being two degrees above normal and sunny conditions provided some relief from the cold during the daytime.

Similar weather conditions are expected to continue on Thursday with the State meteorological centre issuing a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of dense fog likely to occur in some parts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Ground frost is likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State today. Further, shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur in some parts of Dehradun, Pauri and Nainital districts. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the districts of the State today.

The meteorological centre has forecast that the provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness a mainly clear sky with mist/shallow fog likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 22 degrees Celsius and four degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Wednesday were 22 degrees Celsius and 4.3 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 16.6 degrees Celsius and 6.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 11.4 degrees Celsius and -0.8 degree Celsius in Mukteshwar and 13.6 degrees Celsius and 2.1 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
