Minister directs termination of  teachers absent for long, again

 Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat has directed that the teachers that are absent from the schools for a long period of time, should be terminated. He gave the order while presiding over a meeting of the department at the State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) on Friday. He said that the absentee teachers should be identified and their district wise and blockwise lists should be prepared. 

 Expressing his strong displeasure on the disparities in the categorisation of schools into Sugam and Durgam categories, the minister directed the director general of School Education to investigate the issue and ensure that the schools are categorized as per the norms.

In the meeting the minister directed that the cases of voluntary and compulsory retirement in the department should be expedited. He also reviewed the process of distribution of free textbooks to the students of class I to XII in the meeting and warned that officers responsible for delay in textbook distribution will be punished.  The minister directed that the officers should review the cluster schools, PM Shree schools, C and D category schools and ensure that the ongoing construction works and the process of providing basic facilities in these schools is complete on time. 

The secretary Ravinath Raman, director general Education Jharna Kamthan, director Mukul Sati and other officers attended the meeting.
