Minister Joshi participates in Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign

More than 200 saplings of different species were planted in the upcoming Sainya Dham located in Guniyalgaon here on Tuesday under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the call for the campaign. The Soldier Welfare minister Ganesh Joshi participated in the drive by planting an Amla sapling.
Speaking on the occasion, Joshi said that in view of the challenge of climate change and large scale deforestation, plantation of trees has become very essential. He appealed to the people to take part in the nationwide campaign of tree plantation and contribute for conservation and preservation of the environment.
The minister stressed that only planting of saplings is not necessary but the saplings should be protected and cared for till they grow into strong trees. He said that the State government has directed the officers to ensure plantation of trees which are more effective in water conservation during the festival of Harela this year. Expressing gratitude to PM Modi for giving a call to people to participate in the plantation drive, the minister said that the campaign to plant trees in the memory of mothers is gathering momentum.
He opined that the planting trees in the campaign will not only increase the reverence for mothers but will also protect the mother planet.
The minister exhorted people to participate in the plantation campaign in large numbers.
District Panchayat vice president Deepak Pundeer, Soldier Welfare director brigadier (retd) Amrit Lal and others were present on the occasion.
