Health dept reports 16 new cases in U’khand, 13 in Doon on Tuesday; positivity rate at 1.04 %
Cabinet minister Saurabh Bahuguna has been found infected with Covid-19. He has isolated himself in his defence colony residence after his sample was found positive on Tuesday. The minister himself gave information about this on social media and requested all those who had come into contact with him to get tested for the disease.
The infection to Bahuguna has created a scare as many people including the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had come into his contact on Monday during the birth anniversary programme of his grandfather Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna.
Meanwhile the state health department reported 16 new patients of the Covid-19 in the state on Tuesday. Death of no patient was reported from in the state on the day. The authorities also declared two patients cured from the disease on Tuesday. The department has so far detected 92,328 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 88,748 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 275 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 96.12 per cent on Tuesday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 1.04 per cent on the day. The health department reported 13 new patients from Dehradun and one each from Haridwar, Nainital and Pithoragarh districts on Tuesday.
The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 87. Dehradun with 53 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Haridwar has 24 active cases of the disease. Almora, Chamoli, Pauri, Tehri and Uttarkashi districts have no active cases of the disease. In the ongoing vaccination drive 21,252 people were vaccinated in 95 sessions in the state held on Tuesday.
