Minors commit suicide by jumping before train in Haridwar

Two minor siblings allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train in Jwalapur of Haridwar district late on Tuesday. They were angry over a trivial issue in their home that reportedly pushed them to commit suicide, the officials said. According to them, the police received information around 11 PM on Tuesday that a boy and a girl had died after being hit by a train on the Lalpul railway track and their bodies were lying nearby. The police team rushed to the spot after receiving the information along with the government railway police (GRP) and the railway police force (RPF). The police inspected the incident site and took the body into custody. The teams interrogated the people of the area to identify the deceased boy and girl. Soon, two young men Saqib and Sajid identified the deceased teenagers as their brother Sameer (16) and sister Aliswa (14). The officials said that the brothers told the police that their siblings left the house angry over a trivial issue and they could not find them for several hours. The officials said that the deceased’s parents were not in the city when the incident happened. The police have sent the bodies for post- mortem. After completing the required procedure, the bodies will be handed over to the families. The police are investigating the matter and verifying all the claims made by the deceased’s brothers. Any further action will be taken accordingly, they added.
