In order to approve rebate in the property tax of the residents of the Gram Sabhas that were merged into the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD), Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’ met the urban development minister on Monday. The MLA requested the urban development minister to provide considerable rebate to the 72 erstwhile Gram Sabhas that are now a part of the MCD. He also met the municipal commissioner, Vinay Shankar Pandey and asked him to hold any enquiries against the property taxpayers of these areas by the corporation till the urban home ministry gives a final decision. Following this, Pandey has directed the municipal tax superintendents to hold any enquiries in these areas till the further orders.
