Officials of the environment protection committee, Uttarakhand Environment Protection and Pollution Control Board (UEPPCB) and State Infrastructure and Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited (SIIDCUL) regional office conducted a joint inspection of industrial units in Pantnagar as part of a two-day exercise.The committee headed by Ghansali MLA Shakti Lal Sah and comprising Lalkuan MLA Mohan Singh Bisht, Gangotri MLA Suresh Singh Chauhan along with officials of the UEPPCB and SIIDCUL inspected the Bajaj Auto facility here on Saturday.
The committee checked the works being undertaken for environmental protection at the industrial unit and concluded that the enterprise was doing good work for environmental protection. The committee ascertained during its inspection that the modern equipment and steps taken by the company on its premises were helpful in environmental protection. The MLAs and officials also interacted with the employees and sought information about the facilities being provided to them. The committee head then held a meeting with the Bajaj Auto management officials. Appreciating the steps taken for environmental protection, Sah said that other industrial units should also adopt such steps in order to ensure the protection of the environment.
