The Congress has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party has duped the people of Dehradun in the name of the Smart City project. Responding to statements made by MLA Vinod Chamoli, the Congress chief spokesperson Garima Mehra Dasauni said that he had shown the courage needed to raise questions at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream project under the BJP government.
However, she said that the execution of the project had started in 2018 and questioned why Chamoli was raising the issue now when more than half of the construction work has been completed. “He made some startling revelations in his statement.
Chamoli said that he was stopped by the Urban Development minister whenever he tried to raise this issue and that the works executed are drastically different from those in the DPR sent to the Centre in 2017. When a BJP MLA raises questions at execution of PM Modi’s pilot project under his own party’s government, it substantiates the allegations levelled by the opposition.
The people of Uttarakhand must know who are the leaders and officials who are eating away at Uttarakhand like termites and who have dented PM Modi’s dream project,” Dasauni said.
