In latest news from Uttarakhand, use of mobile phone and camera has been completely banned within 30- meter radius of the Kedarnath Dham premises. Informing this, the chief executive officer of Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), Vijay Prasad Thapliyal said that strict action would be taken against those to be found making reels and videos in violation of the directive “Every pilgrim will be checked by police assisted by ITBP personnel and BKTC employees,” he said. Explaining the step, the committee stated that the dignity of the shrine is paramount.
Meanwhile, BKTC has geared up for the successful conduct of Kedarnath Yatra starting from May 2.
Notably, several controversies cropped up during last year’s Yatra due to reels and videos, shot in and around the temple, having gone viral on social media.
