Model Code of Conduct removed from U’khand

The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) enforced in the state on account of the assembly elections in the state has been removed after the end of the process of the elections. The MCC was enforced in the state on January 8 when the election commission (EC) announced the schedule of the elections. In a letter directed to the chief secretary, Director General of Police, Additional CSs, Principal Secretaries, secretaries and district magistrates, the chief electoral officer (CEO) Uttarakhand Sowjanya said that since all the returning officers have announced the results of the assembly elections, the MCC enforced in the state has ended on March 11. With the end of MCC the state administration would start functioning in the normal manner.
