Moderate to dense fog forecast in plains today

With the rainy spell having left the state, the state meteorological centre has forecast the likelihood of dry weather prevailing in the districts of the state on Thursday. However, it has also issued a warning regarding the possibility of moderate to dense fog occuring in some parts of plains especially in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Further, ground frost is likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the state today. The provisional state capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy skies. The maximum and minimum temperatures here are likely to be about 21 degrees Celsius and nine degrees Celsius respectively on Thursday.
Meanwhile, various high altitude regions remain covered in snow which was received in the recent past. The minimum temperature in various parts of the state, especially in the mountains continues to drop to sub zero levels. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various places in the state on Wednesday were 21.2 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 17.8 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 7.2 degrees Celsius and 0.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar, and 12 degrees Celsius and one degree Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
