The Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Tehri Lok Sabha constituency, Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah campaigned in various areas of the Mussoorie Vidhan Sabha constituency on Friday. Addressing the public, she elicited focus on the works done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the welfare of scheduled caste, scheduled tribes and residents of slums.
Addressing the public, Shah said that the Government of India under PM Modi has been working to uplift and empower the Dalits and backward sections of society through various efforts like the foodgrains scheme, PM Awas Yojana, Kisan Samman Nidhi, Ujjwala Yojana and assistance to street vendors, among other initiatives. The Central government is committed to ensuring the welfare of society down to the person standing on the last rung of the social ladder.
A number of Congress office bearers and workers also joined the BJP on the occasion. Mussoorie MLA and cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi and office bearers of the BJP also participated in the campaign.
