In latest news from Doon, with the monsoon becoming fully active across Uttarakhand, the regional meteorological office has forecast heavy rain with thunder and lightning for several districts of the State, including Dehradun. Also, it has predicted heavy shower for both the hills and the plains. The districts for which the weather office issued heavy rain warning include Rudraprayag, Tehri, Pauri, Chamoli, Champawat, Pithoragarh and Dehradun. Landslides may occur in the mountainous areas and so the administrations have been asked to be alert.
As many of the rivers and streams are in spate in the wake of continuing and torrential rains, the police are now shifting those living in proximity to them to safer places in many of the State’s districts.
