Monsoon session of U’khand to start with paying homage to departed members

In view of the upcoming monsoon session of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, the assembly speaker Prem Chand Agarwal presided over the meetings of the leaders of the legislature parties and business advisory committee on Thursday. In the meeting with the leaders of legislature parties, Agarwal said that there are many such issues on which the people of the state want serious discussion in the house. He expressed confidence that both the treasury benches and opposition would play their role in a positive manner during the session.
The speaker assured that he would promote positive and conclusive discussion on the issues of public interest and provide ample opportunities to the members to express their views. The speaker requested the members that they should follow the Covid -19 protocol during the session. In the business advisory committee meeting, the agenda of the house was discussed. On August 23, the house would pay homage to its members who died recently. Homage would be paid to Indira Hridayesh, Gangotri MLA Gopal Rawat, former MLA Amrish Kumar and former education minister Narendra Singh Bhandari. The speaker said that on August 23, the meeting of the business advisory committee would be held again. On the advice of the speaker, it was decided that a discussion on the sustainable development goals would be held on a day during the session. A total of 784 questions have so far been received by the assembly secretariat for the session. It has also received four amendment bills that would be tabled in the house.
The meetings were attended by the chief minister Puskhar Singh Dhami, parliamentary affairs minister Banshidhar Bhagat, leader of opposition (LoP) Pritam Singh and others.
