Monsoon set to arrive in parts of State today

Alert issued regarding possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in 9 districts
The monsoon is set to arrive in parts of the State today. The State meteorological centre forecast on Tuesday that conditions are favourable for advance of the southwest monsoon into some parts of the State during the next 24 hours. The meteorological centre has also issued an alert regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall occurring at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Wednesday. Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat and Pauri districts today.
Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorm are likely to occur at most places with intense showers also likely at isolated places in the districts of Uttarakhand today. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of rain/thundershowers may be intense showers in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. Meanwhile,the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Tuesday were 34.4 degrees Celsius and 24.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34.9 degrees Celsius and 27.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 24.2 degrees Celsius and 16.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.4 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
