In latest news from Dehradun, with Dehradun and some parts of Uttarakhand sizzling at 42+ degrees Celsius, the regional meteorological centre said in a bulletin that the monsoon is likely to reach the State in 10 days. To be more precise, the State will have to wait till the end of May for the eagerly awaited monsoon rain. The Met office further said that things are ripening for the advent of monsoon in the neighbourhood of Uttarakhand.
Earlier, the weather office had forecast heavy shower for two days from May 20 in most of the districts of Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, fuelling expectation that the prolonged scorching heat would yield place to the comfort of a couple of rainy days.
Meanwhile, the heat wave condition continues in Doon with the maximum temperature hovering around 41 degrees Celsius.
