With various high altitude regions of the state covered in a blanket of snow, the state meteorological centre has forecast more rain and snowfall in the state today. According to the weather forecast, very light to light rain/snowfall is likely to occur at a few places in the districts of the state on Friday. Further, snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 2,500 metres and above. The provisional state capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies. Further, very light to light rain is also likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 23 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various places in the state on Thursday were 21.6 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 23.5 degrees Celsius and 11.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 7.5 degrees Celsius and 1.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 10.6 degrees Celsius and 2.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. It will be recalled that the meteorological centre had earlier forecast a wet spell over Uttarakhand which will result in rain and snowfall in various parts of the state till January 9.
