More rain, thunder and squalls in store today

The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (alert) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense shower/ hail and squall (60-70 kmph gusting up to 80 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in districts of Garhwal region on Wednesday. The centre has also issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning, hail and gusty wind (40-50 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in districts of Kumaon region. Further, heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi district. In addition to this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorm/snowfall are likely to occur at many places in districts of Garhwal region and at a few places in districts of Kumaon region. Snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 4,000 metres and above.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness partly to generally cloudy skies today. Rain/thunderstorm accompanied with lightning/hail/squall (60-70 kmph gusting up to 80 kmph) are likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Tuesday were 33.4 degrees Celsius and 20.6 respectively in Dehradun, 36.2 degrees Celsius and 22.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 22.2 degrees Celsius and 12.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24 degrees Celsius and 11.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
