More than 3L visit Char Dham shrines so far

More than three lakh people have visited the Char Dham shrines since the pilgrimage began on May 3. According to official data, since the portals of Badrinath were reopened on May 8 and Kedarnath shrine was reopened for the public on May 6, 2,07,225 people have visited these two shrines. Till May 11, 68,609 people had visited Gangotri while 57,339 had visited Yamunotri.
Meanwhile, to handle the large number of people arriving to visit the Char Dham shrines, offline registration facility has been launched by State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) at police outposts in Byasi and Bhadrakali near Rishikesh for the convenience of people undertaking the Yatra.
As per the directions of the State’s director general of police Ashok Kumar, the SDRF started an offline registration facility on Thursday morning at Bhadrakali and Byasi near Rishikesh for the convenience of the pilgrims.
Two teams from SDRF will be collecting the information about the vehicles, number of passengers, name of the driver, address and mobile phone number during the process.
In case of more the number of pilgrims exceeding the fixed limit the pilgrims will be issued an offline pass for the next day and only those pilgrims will be permitted to go ahead who have been registered for the Yatra.
