In latest news from Doon, Kotwali police registered a case against a person after a girl whom he had married after kidnapping her consumed pesticides to end her life. As per the complaint on which the case was lodged, the person forced her into marrying him and then started sexually assaulting her and demanding dowry. The accused youth’s mother was also named in the case. A senior Kotwali police station officer said that the case had been lodged against the mother-son duo under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
