The department of Technical Education of Uttarakhand has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CodeYogi Foundation and Compute and Learn Foundation to provide free Artificial Intelligence (AI) and technical skills to the students of Polytechnic colleges and ITIs of the State.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Technical Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat on Monday.  The programme aims to impart practical AI and technology skills to the students through their smartphones in their own language. The students completing the programme will earn two academic credits.

Rawat said that the State government has always believed in equipping its youth with skills that prepare them for the future. “AI is no longer a subject for a privileged few and now it is a fundamental capability every student needs. By delivering AI skills directly on students’ smartphones, without requiring any additional infrastructure from our colleges and by awarding academic credits, we are ensuring that every student in the State, regardless of their location or background, gets a genuine opportunity to build these essential skills,’’ he said.
