MoUs worth Rs 4,800 crore inked on second day of Dhami’s London visit

Moving ahead to achieve the target of attracting an investment of Rs 2.5 lakh crore from the global investors summit -2023, the State government signed MoUs worth Rs 4,800 crore on the second day of the London visit of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday. The CM participated in a road show in London to promote the investors summit proposed to be held in Dehradun in December this year.
In the show the CM held meetings with many leading business houses of London. On the sidelines of the show, MoUs worth Rs 4,800 crore were signed with two companies in the presence of Dhami.
The State government entered into two separate MoUs with Kayan Jet worth Rs 3,800 crore and an MoU of Rs 1,000 crore was inked with Usha Breco.
Kayan Jet signed an MoU of Rs 2,100 crore for developing skiing resorts and Rs 1,700 crore for cable car projects in the State. The company will develop ski resorts in Auli, Dayara Bugyal and Munsiyari.
The Usha Breco Limited will develop ropeways in Haridwar and other districts. The roadshow was attended by about 80 business houses from the education, tourism, IT and health sectors of London.
Addressing the attendees, CM Dhami invited them to visit Dehradun for the global investors summit in December. He said that the State government has set a target to attract investment worth Rs 2.5 lakh crore which will provide a fillip to the economy of the State.
The Indian high commissioner to Britain Vikram Doraiswami appreciated the policies and the vision of the Uttarakhand government. He said that being situated in the vicinity of the National Capital Region (NCR), Uttarakhand has emerged as the weekend tourism destination.
The delegation of Uttarakhand also visited India House and the Parliament House in London. During the visit to India House, the state government delegation held detailed discussions with representatives of major companies associated with the tour and travelling sector in London.
The secretary to CM, R Meenakshi Sundaram, secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey, director general of industry Rohit Meena, resident commissioner Ajay Mishra and others were present on the occasion.
Dhami is on a five-day official visit to Britain to interact with the business fraternity there for the global investors’ summit to be held in Dehradun in December this year.
