In latest news from Dehradun, the first look of the 8th edition of Mr and Miss Uttarakhand was organised by Himalayan Buzz and Dharma Creations in Doon. The organisers said that a total of 30 persons-all Uttarakhand natives living in the State and settled in places outside Uttarakhand- had participated in it. Calling the event as a significant step towards inculcation of inclusivity, the principal organiser Anirudh Badola said that the competition’s motto was commitment to diversity. “This year, we have done away with the discriminatory norms and welcomed youths from all sections. Our platform is meant to boost the youth’s self-confidence and enhance their personalities,” he said and added that aside from physical agility, the participants’ mental attributes like confidence and intelligence had been taken into account in
deciding the result of the competition.
