Foreign delegates to get a glimpse of Uttarakhand’s culture

The Muni Ki Reti and Lakshmanjhula areas have been beautified for the G20 meet to be held in the Narendranagar area on May 24-25. On Saturday, the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) vice chairman Banshidhar Tiwari inspected the works being undertaken in these two areas and issued necessary instructions to the officials concerned.

Efforts have been made by the authorities to use paintings and other means to artistically beautify the areas.Though the evening Arti on the banks of the Ganga river is a unique experience in itself, efforts have been made to give a glimpse of the State’s culture to the foreign delegates who will be arriving here for the G20 event. A large painting of lord Hanuman will attract the visitors on Janaki Setu while the railing on the Ganga ghats has also been decorated.  According to the officials, the G20 delegates will first arrive at Dehradun airport. They will get a glimpse of the State’s culture inside and outside the airport with artistic depictions being made on the walls. The landscaping of the airport was also done afresh. The route from the Dehradun airport to Narendranagar has also been decorated in an systematic manner, said the officials while adding that Muni Ki Reti and Lakshmanjhula have also been beautified afresh in view of the G20 event.
